The Nevada Diabetes Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in April 1997 by a merger between the Diabetes Educational Center founded in 1980 and the Nevada Children’s Diabetes Association founded in 1996. The organization is an independent diabetes association and is not affiliated with any national diabetes organization. All funds raised by the NDA are used to provide local services.

Everyone agrees that diabetes is a terrible disease. Everyone hopes for a cure. But, until we find a cure what do we do in the meantime for the children affected by this disease? How can we make their lives better? How can we help prevent the complications that this disease causes? How can we help the families that have to deal with a child who must take multiple shots a day, whose meals must be carefully planned and whose every aspect of life revolves around this condition? How can we stop the growing epidemic of Type 2 diabetes and improve the quality of life for those affected by this insidious condition?
