The CIT program  is for teens 15-17 to train them to transition to be counselors. The CITs are considered junior staff and have many of the same responsibilities as the counselors and are under the supervision of CIT Director, Ryan Dyess. Nevada Diabetes Association gains retention in programs like this that allow the teens to pay it forward. Other responsibilities of the CITs are diabetes education in which they talked with the campers about diabetes in school, sports and their families. This program, along with Teen Camp and the Injection Connection Programs are designed to assist in the last goal in the youth program: to build leadership.
